Marimekko Tote

For Christmas gifts this year, I decided to make totes. I have some experience with the basic shape for making a square bottom bag – I made clutches last year – so I didn’t follow a pattern. I did find that using a neutral color quilt binding for the interior seams worked really well – it was easy to apply, blended in with the fabric, and was a simple way to avoid fraying. I found some fun merimekko fabric at a local store and was able to buy a small amount to use as detailing.
